Welcome to an exciting venue of events that will be unfolding for us from May 21 to May 24, 2024.
We will host the 118th Annual Convention at Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania. You can learn more about the property by visiting their website at http://www.hersheylodge.com
All details about the convention can be found on the ALCA website as they progress. The convention brochure will be online mid March of 2024. There will be a link to it on the home page at the bottom. Also voting for our Slate of Candidates will be done via email beginning April 1, 2024. The schedule for 2024 is very similar to the 2023 convention. Prior to the official opening of the convention, the annual golf tournament will be held at 12:00 pm with lunch for golfers at the course at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 21. Pre-registration for golfers is a must to facilitate the start of the tournament. Further information on the golf outing can be found under this section as well as our online brochure.
The official opening of the convention will begin with Registration on Tuesday, May 21, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm with a cocktail Reception from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Dinner will be from 7 to 10 pm and conversations with old and new associates of the leather industry completing the evening.
ALCA President Joseph Hoefler will open the Technical Program at 9 am on Wednesday, May 22. This year’s technical program is being organized by Vice President John Rodden and will offer a wide array of leather technologies covering tanning to finishing to environmental issues and can be viewed in the coming months on our website. The 63rd John Arthur Wilson Lecture will be announced shortly. The technical sessions will end at 4:30 pm followed by the Fun Run at 5:15 pm. A reception and dinner will follow the Fun Run. This will be an exciting evening that you won’t want to miss.
Technical papers will resume Thursday morning at 9 am with the Annual Business Meeting ending the morning sessions. At noon everyone is invited to attend the Activities Awards Luncheon where prizes will be awarded for the Fun Run and golf outing. Technical papers will resume in the afternoon at 1:30 to 4:30 pm. A reception will begin at 6 pm followed by dinner with awards afterwards. The convention will close out on Friday morning after breakfast.
